Japan – after earthquake, tsunami

Jordan International, in partnership with Dr. Enoch Choi, an urgent care physician, brought 422 solar lights on a relief trip to Japan, after the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami.

The objectives of this Japan trip included the assessment of medical conditions among tsunami victims in the Tohoku area, and the distribution of medical supplies and solar lamps to Tsunami victims and Japanese fishermen. So far 422 lights have been donated.

Nori fishermen now have new solar lights for their boats and warehouses.

Students at Jordan Middle School, in Palo Alto, California, raised $1800 toward this project by hosting a school dance as a fund raiser.

Participants included Dr. Yumi Ando, Dr. Jeff Croke, Madeleine Croke, with thanks Jesse Mendoza. Enoch Choi, also brought lights to Haiti through the One Million Lights foundation.

The fund raising for this was announced in April on the One Million Lights website.
