Meet our Newest Board Member, Anne Raimondi

Seasoned Executive and Community Leader to Lend her Expertise

One Million Lights welcomes Anne Raimondi to its board of directors. Ms. Raimondi brings over 12 years of experience in the highly competitive world of Internet technologies to One Million Lights. One Million Lights is a non-profit with a goal to distribute 1,000,000 environmentally friendly, re-chargeable solar lights to adults and children around the world. One Million Lights is actively distributing solar lamps around the world with current projects in Asia, Africa, and South America.

I look forward to helping One Million Lights further their cause to empower children and communities through access to clean, affordable light, and ultimately, access to education and opportunity”, said Ms. Raimondi.

“By focusing on the global community, we are addressing only half the problem”, said Anna Sidana, Founder, and CEO of One Million Lights. “It is important to involve our own youth in learning about issues of global poverty and the environment, and to prepare them to become better leaders in the future. We have been fortunate to receive overwhelming support from schools and families in the United States looking for ways to help in our mission. We are excited and honored to have Anne join the board to help grow our local school programs as well as scale using the best technologies available.”

Ms. Raimondi, alumnus of Stanford University, has spent her career building innovative consumer Internet companies including Blue Nile, eBay, Zazzle, and Insider Pages (sold to Citysearch / IAC). She is also a senior advisor for Business Talent Group as well as several Silicon Valley start-ups. She will serve on the One Million Lights board until March 2012.

About Anne Raimondi
Ms. Raimondi has spent most of her career building internet commerce and community sites. She was a member of the founding team at Blue Nile, led several teams and businesses at eBay including launching eBay Stores, growing eBay’s seller tools and products, and launching new international sites, and later served in leadership roles at two Silicon Valley startups, Zazzle and Insider Pages. Ms. Raimondi developed an innovative fundraising program at Insider Pages, which benefited local schools and community groups. Insider Pages was acquired by Citysearch / IAC in 2007.

Ms. Raimondi also advises several Internet startups including Minted.com, Blurb, Jivox, and TheSkinnyScoop, as well as serves as a senior advisor for Business Talent Group. Ms. Raimondi is an active sponsor of Friends of Ngong Road and serves as a docent for Art Vista, a parent-run art program at her children’s elementary school.

Ms. Raimondi holds a BA in Economics and Sociology and an MBA from Stanford University.
