Mackenzie O’Donnell and James Baker — Costa Rica

Mackenzie and James have been volunteering in Washington DC for One Million Lights for one year this March!  Graduates of American University, Mackenzie and James both have a vested interest in international development and diplomacy, and work in Washington on behalf of OML reaching out to other organizations and institutions with a similar vision. Additionally, for the last year, James and Mackenzie have been managing some of the social networking for OML. The pair coordinated a successful light distribution this March 2011, leading a group of 5 others to distribute 48 lights to the Kekoldi Indian Community in Northern Talamanca, Costa Rica.

Mackenzie is originally from San Francisco and has been living in Washington since 2005. James is originally from Montana and moved to Washington DC in 2007. He will be relocating to Russia in Fall 2011 and plans to host several light distributions for OML in the near future in regions near Russia where our organization has barely touched. Stay tuned for more on his journey in future newsletters!
