Come Light up the Night!

One Million Lights and Energizer are teaming up to distribute lights in rural places where the gift of solar lights will help change the lives of adults and children. Most of these communities live at subsistence level and may spend as much as fifty percent of their wages on toxic kerosene for lighting. Solar lights will enable these people to save this money and divert it towards income generation, healthcare, nutrition, and education.

One Million Lights’ representatives will distribute the lights in rural villages that are currently off the electric grid in four regions; Argentina, Ethiopia, Kenya and the Philippines. Each distribution will be overseen either by a One Million Lights representative or a local partner or trusted representative. The recipients need was based on existing knowledge and research of locations and communities – villages and schools.
