Preston’s project to light up Kenya

On July 13, 2013 Preston and his mother will depart for Nairobi to begin a one week volunteer mission in a local orphanage with the organization IVHQ. Due to the high poverty and illness, orphanages can host 50-300 children at one time. Volunteers assist with changing, playing, helping children with homework, cooking, cleaning, caring, feeding and entertaining the children. Then on July 26th they will meet with Preston’s hockey group the Reston Raider’s traveling with Safaris Made Simple. During this week they plan on going to the Sheldrick elephant orphanage, visit a Massai tribe and then Preston will get the chance as a Global Ambassador for OML to distribute the lights to a local school. Upon his return he will have many pictures, videos, and stories to share.
